The Jeremiah Tree Glass started as a happy glass accident when I unintentionally artificially sealed and turned to carbon something in my kiln. As soon as I saw the result I knew I had something. An entrepreneur at heart and an artist by trade, I felt the calling to create something new and called it fossil glass. For two years I have taken these beautiful jewel colored jewelry and home decor pieces to various shows and an online shop. I also moved into retails stores (find a list on the retail outlets page!).
Most recently I have started a new line which I'm thrilled with and speaks to the visual artist inside of me. It's simply called Oceans and reflects the movement and turbulance of the ocean that surrounds Nova Scotia. Beautiful transluscent colors of turquoise, cobalt blue, sea green, and a hint of red and amber absorb and reflect the natural light to give a stunning result.
You'll notice the name of my shop is The Jeremiah Tree Glass. I named my business after my youngest son, Jeremiah, shown in the picture above. Having this business enables me to be able to keep him involved in sports programs.
A bit about me. In my daytime life, I am a high school visual arts teacher. By night, I am a hockey mom, glass artist, and entrepreneur. On the weekends you can find me in a hockey rink or at a show. In the future it is my hope that I can transition to full time glass artist and entrepreneur. I recently received my masters degree in art education and look forward to putting it to good use!
